No, you are right.
I am horrified by politics over the last couple of decades, too.
the comment on alienation of the Grensis dead right, I became alienated from 1995 when Beddall overturned Faulkners forest coup recommendations; which ended any hope of a rapprochement, based on science, between Labor and the Greens.
The nail in the coffin for me, the ultimate bastardry, came later that decade when Tasmanian Labor in cahoots with the Liberals, opted to gerrymander the Greens out of politics rather than consider the science on logging and its increments,
Its the neolib model. its been entrenched since the nineties and and is reinforced thru such tools as the AUSFTA, “governance”, including ppis and commercial in confidence and there really, is not much left, as you say, of democracy at all in this country.

Paul. I don’t disagree that the Greens have been on the wrong end of some dirty politics from both the major parties. That doesn’t change the political reality for them however. This election will be decided in seats like Lindsay, not seats like Melbourne.

Not in a month of Sundays do i agree with your comment on the Greens. They have been on the receiving end of the dirtiest politics in Australia, done over by corporate thugs like John Gay, slandered in the tabloid press because they wont reinforce the paradigm on recreational drugs,
and why?
Because they suggest a less self centred approach to life and refuse to live in a fantasy of Tabloid culture that now actually threatens our own species amongst tens of thousands?
